Carpenter Bee

The Carpenter Bee is a wood boring insect.

They will burrow channels into the wood and create chambers to lay eggs and to develop into adults.

Carpenter Bees look similar to a Bumble Bee except they have a smooth, shiny abdomen where a Bumble Bee has a dull looking abdomen.

Look for sawdust and 1/2 inch round holes in wood.

Carpenter Bee females can sting but usually won't. The males cannot sting at all.
